The Estimator plays a key role in supporting builders by producing accurate and timely quotes and bids for exterior construction projects, including siding, roofing, battens, and eavestroughs. This position bridges technical documentation, field insights, and cost analysis to ensure projects are priced competitively and profitably. Reporting to senior leadership, the Estimator works closely with builders, internal production teams, and subcontractors to support smooth project execution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The key job functions are:
- Review blueprints, specifications, scopes of work, and technical documents to prepare detailed and accurate quotes.
- Analyze project documentation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues through information gathering and clarification.
- Collaborate with builder estimators via phone, email, and occasional site visits.
- Measure and quantify roofing and exterior scopes of work, including multi-family projects.
- Assist internal production teams by clarifying scopes of work and addressing subcontractor-related questions.
- Prepare, finalize, and submit quotes and bids in alignment with builder timelines and deadlines.
- Re-submit revised estimates as a result of site changes, plan updates, or scope adjustments.
- Attend job sites as required to assess materials, labour requirements, and project conditions.
- Consult with management on complex or high-risk estimates and pricing decisions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality of all company information.
- Adhere to health, safety, and respectful workplace policies at all times.
- Support team collaboration and uphold organizational values and culture.
Education:
- Completion of a diploma or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with On-Screen Take-Off, and PlanSwift.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of estimating, preferably within construction (trades); exterior finishing, or a related industry.
- Hands-on construction experience transitioning from field operations into an estimating or office-based role is considered a strong asset.
Skills:
- Attention to Detail: Consistently produces accurate, high-quality estimates with minimal variance.
- Analytical Thinking: Able to assess complex information and make sound pricing decisions.
- Time Management: Effectively manages multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Clear, professional written and verbal communication with internal teams and external partners.
- Organization: Maintains structured documentation and workflows to support efficiency and accuracy.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable working with estimating software and digital plans.
Base Salary: $60,000 – 70,000 per year
- Salary is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and technical expertise.
- Benefits package included.
Work Hours:
- 40 hours per week
- Monday – Friday
- Standard business hours

- This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
